Do you still work here?

I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but I basically disappeared from the site for the past six months.  I have my theories as to why...we'll get to that in a minute.  Needless to say, I haven't really felt much like writing as of late.  It looks like that's all about to change...maybe...hopefully.

"So," you may be asking yourself, "Mr. Lee, what the fuck have you been doing for the last six months?"  The short answer is settling in to life in Denver.  My struggle of a job search never panned out like I had planned, but luckily things still worked out for me.  For those who remember, I was working part-time at the front desk of a medicinal marijuana dispensary when I first moved out here.

Tim Barry: Shoulda Oughta

In anticipation of my concert review, here's some live Tim Barry from 3 King's Tavern.  This is the venue I saw him play last weekend, but this video is from last year.  So far, no one has posted any video from the show I attended...come on people, let's get a move on. 

That's Josh Small on slide guitar.  Usually he tours with Tim, but didn't this time because he's recording his own record.  While it took away a dimension of the music, it also meant that it was only Tim Barry and his guitar, which is almost better in a way.  He played for as long as he felt like and also came down into the crowd for a few songs...this was one of them.

Ok, so this is the first thing I've written in about two months.  I'm not totally sure, but I think it might be partly my fault.  Oh well.  So you're probably wondering what I've been up to the last 6-8 weeks.  Then again, you may not give a fuck at this point.  Either way, I'm ready to start writing again and there's a lot I want to address, so more will be showing up again soon.  Today, I think I'm just going to road map things out for you. 

Damn, I used a ton of commas in that first paragraph.  My friends with English or teaching degrees probably would not approve.  And yes, that is me standing in front of the world famous Casa Bonita before my first trip in there.  It reminds me a little of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyworld.   I plan on going back there again in the near future and doing a proper write up.  And that vaguely relates to the next thing I was going to talk about...how convenient.  Looks like you'll have to keep reading.

On Turning 30

So my 30th birthday was about three weeks ago.  It's an event that has been the source of many anxieties for me the last few months.  Obviously, this birthday is some sort of a milestone...I'm just not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.  There were several goals that I had set to accomplish by the time I turned 30.  I was successful on some fronts and failed on a few others, but that's the way it goes.

I'll get to those two topics later on here, but I suppose now is a good time to give the central details.  My birthday was the day after Christmas (which sucks in it's own right but bears little on this narrative), and within 72 hours I had made several big decisions.  I quit my job and decided that I'm moving to Denver by the end of the month.

One last Pixies video left to share.  Is there a reason I chose this one to be the last?  Probably, but I'm not sure what that reason is.  Anyways, this is also from that show in Denver from last month.  This show will go down as one of the best ever for me.  Lots of cute indie rocks chicks...man I need to move out west.
